Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 is all set to kick start in Mumbai on February 1, 2017. Like all years, apart from the grand collections that are showcased at the five day long festival that celebrates fashion, all eyes are set on the celebrity showstoppers! New fashion trends and unique statements are made at the ramp of the much awaited fashion week and these set the tone for the year to come. Bollywood stars have been a hot favourite for fashion designers, who rope in some of the most popular faces to play showstoppers for them.
The presence of Bollywood stars makes the fashion week bigger as it ensures more eyeballs for the collections that are showcased here! This year at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 is no different. We are expecting some of the biggest and most beautiful names from Bollywood to represent some of the most celebrated fashion talent from the country during the five-day extravaganza. While Sonakshi Sinha already impressed us as she played a showstopper for designer Monisha Jaising at the opening show of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017, we are expecting a lot many beauties to come together and play ramp seductresses. Kareena Kapoor Khan
It is going to be one of the most anticipated moments when Kareena Kapoor Khan takes the ramp as a showstopper for Anita Dongre at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2017. She will close the five day fashion gala event. This will also her first outing at a public platform after delivering her beautiful son Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. The actress, who is the face of Lakme Absolute says she is glad to walk for Dongre, who will be showcasing her collection on February 5 at the Jio Garden in Mumbai. “It’s always a pleasure representing Lakmé at the most spectacular Grand Finale. And, this year as well, I am glad to go back to Lakmé Fashion Week and walk for Anita. I am looking forward to see how she is going to transform the ‘Liquid Gold’ theme on the runway”, Kareena said in a statement.
It can be recalled that earlier Kareena had taken to the ramp for Sabyasachi Mukherjee when she was heavily pregnant and she looked beautiful than ever!
Sophie Choudry
and singer Sophie will walk the ramp for debut designer Abha Choudhary at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017. Abha will present her collection named ‘Coral 101’, on the fifth day of the event, which begins from February 1. Sophie said she finds walking the ramp more daunting than performing during her shows in front of thousands of people. “I absolutely love walking the ramp. Of course I find it more nerve-wrecking than performing in front of 20,000 people. But Lakme Fashion Week is a super prestigious event and it’s always a pleasure to be a part of it! This year I’m walking for Abha Choudhary and can’t wait to set the Ramp on fire,” Sophie said.
Kangana Ranuat
Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starrer film Rangoon is one of the biggest releases of February 2017. The film is set to hit theatres on Feb 24, 2017. Fashion industry is abuzz with news that Kangana might play showstopper at the Lakme Fashion Week 2017 ramp! She is a ramp hero and has been a hit each time she has sashayed down in her pro-like catwalk!
Both Alia Bhatt and Huma Qureshi have been ramp temptresses in the past and it is being speculated that they might walk the Lakme Fashion Week ramp showstoppers. Both the ladies have their big releases coming up in February- March 2017. While Huma Qureshi has Jolly LLB 2 releasing on 10 February, 2017, Alia Bhatt has Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya on March 10, 2017.
The gorgeous model turned actress is set to walk for popular designer Payal Singhal at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2017. The designer will showcase her collection titled ‘Lady M’, inspired by the dark romanticism of the murder mystery book “Death on the Nile” by Agatha Christie on February 3. Singhal says Diana is a fitting embodiment of the collection.
To be held at the beautiful Jio Garden in Mumbai, LFW S/R 2017 will have designers Anita Dongre, Ritu Kumar, Narendra Kumar, Tarun Tahiliani, Anushree Reddy, Falguni and Shane Peacock amongst others showcasing their collections. Anita Dongre will close the fashion week on February 5 with actress Kareena Kapoor Khan stopping her show.
